Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) is an advanced massage therapy where a range of gentle specialised massage techniques are used to move skin and encourage lymph flow. It is a relaxing and rhythmical massage that stimulates the lymph pathways to help optimise lymph movement. The lymphatic system plays an important roll in the bodies defence system and also helps to clean cells.

A skin on skin dry massage that calms the nervous system and encourages a feeling of wellbeing.

MLD is used to treat people with oedema/swelling from a variety of causes including;

Lymphoedema (primary & secondary)

Lipoedema

Post liposuction and corrective surgery

Post cancer treatment

Sinus issues

Venous insufficiency

Arthritis

Swollen legs

and much more.

It can also be of benefit to ‘healthy' people and for those on a detox as well as people with poor immunity.

Although the NHS measure most people for garments (if required) I am able to do this with prior arrangement

I am a registered member with MLD UK (as Fiona Chapman), insured with Balens and attend an MLD run review every 2 years to check my massage method and catch up on lymph massage news.
