  (Our iconic statue)

Do you like playing golf in a relaxed yet competitive manner?

Are you over 55?

Then get in touch with Deanwood Seniors via the Clubhouse on 01635 48772.

Normally the Seniors (Evergreens) meet on a Friday at 08.00 hours. During the winter months (November - March) this is 08.30 hours.

The Captain - Ray Bilton - is always willing to chat and can be contacted through the members section of the website or via the Pro shop.

If Friday is not convenient then there is an offshoot group (The Deans) meeting on Monday (11 am) and Wednesday ( 8 am). Their contacts are Gordon Neale, Colin Jones and Richard Jones all contactable through the website or the Pro shop.

No matter what time of year you are guaranteed a warm welcome here!

....... make sure you know the right handicap for each tee and that you are aware of all the local rules .

November Stableford / Eclectic.

A chilly start to the day saw the Seniors trudge off again for this monthly contest.

As the scores illustrate the conditions are still very trying but the main reason we play is fun and we all had lots of that!

Who is this?

Have you heard this one ?

Two drunken Irishmen in a graveyard.

Paddy starts reading the gravestones.

"Mick" he says;

Would you look at this, a feller here who was 90 when he died!"

"Who's that?" says Mick.

"Somebody called O'Toole from Kerry," he replies.

Mick says, "Never mind him, there's a feller here called Murphy, was 99 when he died! From Castletown of all places!

"Well thats nothing!" says Paddy.

"What about what is written on this feller's stone, here right beside the gate!"

"The stone says 147!"

"147?  Thats amazing!" says Mick.

"Who was he?"

"Well according to the stone, its somebody called Miles from Dublin................................!"

As you walk off the course next time ask yourself the following questions:

Did I enjoy myself?

Have I signed my card?

Did I replace my divots and repair my pitch marks?

You should answer YES to them all!
